This superb, moderne armoire was part of a larger bedroom set designed by the incomparable Jay Spectre, an interior designer who was at his zenith in the 1980s. As with the entire collection, Spectre used a cerused oak, meaning liming wax was applied in order to showcase the beautiful grain. The exterior of the armoire features raised, wood banding in the postmodern, Art Deco style so heavily favored at that time. The bands conceal a handle to pull open the three drawers. The doors open to reveal a set of six spacious compartments as well as two small drawers. Brushed aluminum banding at the base and top complete this very streamlined look. The interior top drawer features the metal plaque with the designer’s imprimatur.
